In the craft beer world, IPAs remain king. This reign shows no signs of stopping, even though you might expect new styles to have emerged by now, with breweries vying to be first on the next big thing. Instead, we’re seeing a constant stream of IPA substyles.
Hazy IPAs (also known as Vermont or New England IPAs) are one example, as are sour IPAs, milkshake IPAs, and the recent arrival of Brut IPAs.
The debate has become a battle between two camps: hazy vs. clear. Journalist Jim Vorel delves into this trend in his article for Paste magazine. Vorel and a select group blind-tasted a whopping 324 IPAs to see which reigned supreme. You can find the results here.
